Wright on Fire: Burns Hialeah College with 3 HR Wednesday, March 7th, 1979 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Sunchasers Ballpark buzzing, Baltimore College Sunchasers second baseman Elijah Wright blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 22-3 win over the Hialeah College Whiskeyjacks. "Everything was clicking," Wright told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Wright shined brilliantly in the win, with 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Sunchasers manager said. "Elijah played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Elijah Wright flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Chris Griffin in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Griffin in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Osborne in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. So far this year in 27 games Wright is hitting .342 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
