Crew Rough Up Lions, Take 17-3 Win
The 17-3 Fairton win over Lynn was due in large part to Mark Clune. The Crew third baseman went 3 for 6 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Fairton reliever Juan Genovas picked up the win, upping his record to 4-16. Artie Massey was saddled with the loss. The Crew improved to 39-84.

Clune put Fairton up, 13-2, when he hit a grand slam home run off Jason Wall in the bottom of the fifth. His 13th home run of the season helped the Crew capture the win.

"Getting beat like that is never fun," said losing manager Jim Curran.
