Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Utsonomiya Fighting Gyoza and Paradise Phantoms.
The Utsonomiya Fighting Gyoza picked up a win at Bird Island Grounds, courtesy of Paul McKenzie. The right-hander helped his team stop the Paradise Phantoms, 3-2. Utsonomiya is now 8-6, Paradise 9-5.
Utsonomiya right fielder Skip Thompson made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Thompson went 1-4 with a triple.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said McKenzie. "Successful pitchers do it."
