Fresno beat Madison at The Monastery, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Stewart Younger. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Fresno pitcher Peter Allen got the win. He's now 1-0. Juan Jose García was tagged with the loss. Howard Murdoch got credit for the save for Fresno. It was his 6th of the year.

Younger had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 curveball from Juan Jose García, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Fightin' Nuns a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Younger.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Younger told a Fresno Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The loss puts Madison at 12-11.
