League Championship Series Game 1 Goes to Ft. Wayne HS Thanks to Wright

The Ft. Wayne HS Seals powered past the visiting Phoenix HS Monarchs, 3-2, in the opener of the League Championship Series at Ft. Wayne HS Grounds today. Ft. Wayne HS second baseman Michael Wright went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. The Seals now lead the series 1-0.
Wright turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Ft. Wayne HS second baseman dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, Ft. Wayne HS's 2-0 deficit turned into a 3-2 lead.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Wright said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ft. Wayne HS Grounds in Ft. Wayne.
