Red Hawks Win, 4-3, Versus Black Knights
|
Baton Rouge second baseman Adrik Vajnichy was a significant contributor in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Chandler Black Knights. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge starter Chris Castro was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 12-9. Tony Sims converted his 27th save in 34 tries.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Vajnichy hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Red Hawks into the lead, 2-0.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Baton Rouge manager Larry Wiley.
The victory gives the Red Hawks a record of 63-59.
