Ballpark of Denver was the site for FBI League action featuring the Denver Red Bulls and Richmond Chinese.
Gerald Stroud never let the Red Bulls get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Chinese to a win, 3-0. The 5th-place Chinese go to 67-52.
Stroud, a native of Manchester, Michigan, was dealing all game. He kept Denver hitters off-balance, while giving the Chinese 7 quality innings. Stroud threw 116 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 10.
Stroud attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
