Blue Sharks Sneak By Berserks, 4-3
|
The Anchorage Blue Sharks beat the Thornton Berserks, 4-3, at Field of the Berserks. Chris Spencer, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mike Carter recorded his 1st save for Anchorage. The Blue Sharks move to 54-77 with the win, while the Berserks drop to 85-46.
Spencer had a timely hit for Anchorage in the top of the ninth. With Thornton trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-1 sinker into a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Anchorage.
Spencer called the triumph "a good team win."
