Tight Tilt Goes to Sabercats, 1-0
|
Steven Crews pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Lincoln Fisher Cats, despite Crews's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the New Orleans Sabercats at Ballpark of New Orleans. New Orleans pitcher George Norwood got the win, upping his record to 9-8. Steven Crews got the loss. Earning his 5th save for New Orleans was Don Luper.
Early in the game, shortstop Clay Hicks had a run-scoring double for New Orleans. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Sabercats on top, 1-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Hicks.
The win makes New Orleans 52-62.
