Destroyers Suffer 10-4 Setback
The Ann Arbor Golden Freaks knocked off the Birmingham Destroyers, 10-4, at Destroyers Ballpark. Scot Hopkins was a big reason Ann Arbor won. The third baseman was 2 for 2 with 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Golden Freaks move to 31-32 with the win, while the Destroyers drop to 28-35.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Hopkins. In the top of the eighth inning, when the Golden Freaks were trailing 4-3, Hopkins delivered a two-out 2-run single for Ann Arbor, giving his team the lead.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Will O'Reilly told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
