Red Bulls Top Destroyers, 6-5
|
Birmingham catcher Howard Bennett had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Washington at Destroyers Ballpark. Bennett slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Reliever Keith Vickers picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Sergio Vázquez took the loss. The Red Bulls boast a remarkable 54-12 record.
Washington took a 4-3 lead on Chris Snyder's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Snyder hit in the top of the tenth, left Birmingham pitcher Sergio Vázquez visibly frustrated.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Snyder.
