Torpedoes Topple Blue Wings, 6-3, as Jomo Shines
|
The Toledo Torpedoes knocked off the North Las Vegas Blue Wings, 6-3, at Blue Wings Ballpark. Jumh Jomo was a big reason Toledo won. The left fielder went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Mike Evans got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Lou Talley earned the save, his 1st.
Stewart Miller, the 31-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Miller contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Toledo up, 2-0.
Jomo called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
Toledo now sits in 9th place in the The Fixer Upper League at 38-41.
