Mounties Best Flying Squirrels, 5-4

The Montreal Mounties topped the Madison Flying Squirrels, 5-4, in The Fixer Upper League action at The Museum of Shit Players. The game was highlighted by the performance of Montreal pitcher Lonnie Stanton. Stanton went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-9. Today's win puts Montreal at 54-69, while Madison falls to 52-71.
There were several reasons the Mounties beat the Flying Squirrels, but one factor was Phil Casey. In the bottom of the third, the Montreal right fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Stanton said after the game.
