The Mahomet Angels handed the Savannah Stampede a 5-4 defeat at Neil Armstrong Recreation Center. Left Fielder Ken Jones starred for Mahomet. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Angels sit in 10th place in the Marvel League with a record of 29-31.

Jones had a crucial hit for Mahomet with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. With Mahomet trailing 3-2, Jones hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Angels ahead, 4-3.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Savannah manager Bart Unicombe.
