Black Knights Win at Baton Rouge, 7-3
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Denis Potter, the Chandler Black Knights defeated the Baton Rouge Red Hawks, 7-3. Potter went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Black Knights. Brad Herrera, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-0. Enrique Montaño was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Chandler first baseman Eric Goodman made his contribution to the Black Knights cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning. For the day, Goodman went 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
