Oliver Excels, But Hot Rods Win
|
The inspired effort of Yuma third baseman Dave Oliver was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Oliver slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Chad Wilson sewed up the save, his 12th. The win lifted the Bowling Green record to 24-21.
Reginald Davis had a productive trip to the plate with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple, helping Bowling Green to the win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Davis, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
