Cossacks Knock Off Heat at Cossacks Ballpark

Glendale HS beat Dallas HS on the strength of starter John Lucas's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. With the win, the Cossacks have a record of 19-13.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Cossacks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when second baseman Ken McKay hit a 2-run double. The double came off Edward English and made the score 4-0, Cossacks. McKay went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
In postgame comments to the Glendale HS Daily News, Lucas said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
