The Colorado Springs HS Volcanoes beat the Portland HS Bucks, 14-4, at Field of the Bucks. Colorado Springs HS right fielder Richard Bennett had an outstanding performance. He was 3-3 with 3 doubles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Portland HS is in the throes of a 9-game skid.

Bennett had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the fourth when the 15-year old right fielder hit a 2-run double. The double gave Colorado Springs HS the lead, 7-3. It was his 11th double of the season.

"Obviously," said Portland HS manager Jeremy Clarkson, "we've hit the skids."
