Polar Bears Show Nerve in Tight 5-4 Win
The 2105 season is off to a good start for the Omaha HS Polar Bears. The hometown Polar Bears knocked off the Ft. Worth HS Falcons, 5-4, at Ballpark of Omaha HS. Omaha HS pitcher Leonard Chouinard paced his team to the win. The win was credited to Randy Vance in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kurt Shelton took the loss.

Jason Reed clinched the win with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Omaha HS pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.

"I told Leonard we needed some fire in the engine room," Polar Bears manager Jim Short said, grinning. "And he responded."
