The Memphis HS Redbirds topped the Miami HS Thunder Dogs, 9-0, the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Les Green. On the day, Green went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Redbirds. Pat Wade got the win, improving to 4-2. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. At 16-11, the Redbirds find themselves in first place in the Conference 2 Division 2.

The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Redbirds Stadium crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.

"It was a good win," said Memphis HS manager Russ Campbell. "Not without blemish, but good."
