Owls Score 9-1 Win Over Flames
|
Kennesaw Owls starter Derek Thurlow had all his pitches working at Silver Sabres Ballpark. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-1 Kennesaw win over the Liberty Flames. Thurlow got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Liberty, with the loss, is 3-2.
John Smith had a big run-scoring double for the Owls in the top of the third inning. With Kennesaw leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Colhoun and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Owls ahead, 2-0.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Steven Cisouw.
