Joe Thompson had a good game, but he could not keep the Liberty Flames from falling, 10-6, to the Albany Great Danes at Silver Sabres Ballpark. The Liberty left fielder went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 times in the loss. Albany is now 13-10, Liberty 12-11.

Albany used a well-timed hit by George Wilburn to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Great Danes ahead, 8-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Wilburn said.
