Keydets Come Back Late to Top Retrievers, 6-5
The VMI Keydets had to overcome a big game from UMBC second baseman Bryan Cooper to leave Fenway Park with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Cooper hit 2 home runs. The first-place Keydets go to 18-8.

The Keydets got a lift from third baseman Ken Parker, who in the top of the ninth stroked a 1-0 fastball into left for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Keydets ahead, 6-5.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said UMBC manager Willie Hurley. "But we decided not to take it."
