Seawolves Defeat Black Bears, 8-2
|
The Stony Brook Seawolves and starting pitcher Bob Edwards stifled the Maine offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Yellow Jackets Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Edwards, now 3-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The Seawolves, at 16-14, sit in second place in the College One American East.
One of the biggest contributors for Stony Brook was right fielder Danny Rose. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, Rose got a 0-1 fastball and got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. That put the Seawolves on top, 4-2.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Edwards told the Stony Brook Observer.
