Air Force first baseman Bill Hall contributed to his team's 7-6 win over the Longwood Lancers. Hall went 4 for 6 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Falcons. The 4th-place Falcons improved to 20-21.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Eugene Johnston had a chance to be the hero. Longwood pitcher Pedro González had other ideas. But with one out, Johnston hit a run-scoring single. The Falcons had themselves a dramatic win.

"This place sure got loud," said Jorge Azapinto, the Air Force manager.
