The rain did not keep Modesto and New Orleans from finishing their game.

The Modesto Majesty rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Paul Underwood to a win, beating the New Orleans Sabercats, 5-2, at Ballpark of New Orleans. Underwood yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-3. Steve Roberts got the save, the 7th for him this season.

Modesto grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Russ Young delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2, in favor of the Majesty.

"We'll put this win in the can," said Young, "and go after the next one."

Modesto goes to 49-50, New Orleans to 55-44.
