Rays Solve Blue Jays, 5-3
|
The Tampa Bay Rays topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3, in American League action at Tropicana Field. The standout performance belonged to Tampa Bay pitcher and Tempe, Arizona, native Josh Hallock. Dan Larsen was credited with the save for Tampa Bay, his 11th of the season. The loss makes Toronto 26-24.
Jeremy Restivo was vital part of the Tampa Bay win. He was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, Restivo hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rays.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Hallock. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
