Gamez Belts 5 Hits Saturday, May 30th , 2054 Jorge Gamez put on a hitting clinic today at Tropicana Field, spraying hits all over the ballpark and lashing Los Angeles pitchers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. However, the offensive onslaught wasn't enough for the Tampa Bay Rays, who still fell, 11-10. "Sometimes I try to pull the ball too much, so today I just went with the pitch," Gamez told reporters after the game. "It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too." Jorge Gamez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.
