Thrice Is Nice: Peralta Unloads 3 Homers Wednesday, May 13th , 2054 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Sergio Peralta did today at BB&T Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 12-5. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Peralta said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Charlotte Knights left fielder blistered the Columbus Clippers for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Columbus manager Hector Figueroa said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Sergio Peralta hit a two-run home run off Chad Glennie in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Chad Glennie in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Steve Aldridge in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. Thus far this season Peralta is hitting .237 with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 93 at-bats and has played in 26 games. |
