Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Mets
|
The New York Mets defeated the Seattle Mariners, 4-3, in National League action at T-Mobile Park. New York pitcher Mario Perales had a standout performance. The win belongs to David Roane in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Cliff MacNeill took the loss for Seattle. The Mets saw their record improve to 20-20.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Mets grabbed the lead when Brian Terry rapped a two-out single. New York was trailing 2-1, when Terry hit a 2-run single off Steve Doss to put his team in front, 3-2.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Perales said. "That's how it goes."
