Cardinals Win 8-5 Walk-Off
|
The performance of Andy Reeves proved critical in helping Johnson City beat Bristol, 8-5. The Cardinals second baseman was 3-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs. Johnson City pitcher Kouichi Yamamoto got the win, upping his record to 3-3. Mike Manthei got the loss. The win puts Johnson City at 25-15 this season.
Johnson City got a knockout punch from Aaron Sullivan. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Reeves said in his postgame press conference.
