Phillies Deal Giants 5-2 Defeat
|
Philadelphia starter Kevin Cox had a strong outing against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. In 6.1 innings, Cox surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Philadelphia now owns a record of 18-25.
Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Daniel Ridley to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ridley.
