Stars Score Late, Top Yankees, 4-3
|
The Nashville Stars picked up a win at First Horizon Ballpark, knocking off the New York Yankees, 4-3. Starting pitcher Mike Walker was a big reason why. Frank Garcia, credited with the save, is now 17 for 18 in save opportunities. The second-place Stars are 37-24.
Antonio Escobar provided some late-game heroics for Nashville. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring double. It came on a first pitch fastball from Jeff Spens and propelled Nashville to a 4-3 lead.
After the game, Escobar refused to speak to a reporter for the Nashville Citizen. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
