Wichita picked up a win at Dell Diamond, bumping off the Round Rock Express, 4-2. Pitcher Ethan Welch was a major reason the Wind Surge emerged victorious. The Wind Surge saw their record improve to 74-65.

Luis Mendoza was vital part of the Wichita win. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. In the top of the fourth with two out, Mendoza hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Wind Surge.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Welch told the Wichita Observer. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
