Curve Topple Sea Dogs, 8-1, as Wilson Shines
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Jarius Wilson, the Altoona Curve defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-1. Wilson hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Curve. Carlos Lugo got the win, improving to 8-0. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Altoona is now 82-26, Portland 41-67.
Wilson had a key at-bat in the top of the second to put Altoona in front, 4-0. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run off Portland pitcher Colby Chaisson.
