Legends Fall Short, 3-2, at High Point
|
High Point Rockers starter Tristan Morris turned in an exceptional performance against the Lexington Legends at BB&T Point Ballpark, resulting in a High Point win, 3-2. Morris picked up the win for High Point, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. With the win, High Point goes to 64-66, while the Legends fall to 76-54.
High Point third baseman Mike Maple had a nice game. In the bottom of the fifth inning with no one out, he belted a solo home run for the Rockers. It made the score 3-1, High Point. For the game, Maple went 1-3 with a home run.
"It was just a matter of executing," said High Point manager Shaun Marcum.
