Trenton and Binghamton got after it at Arm & Hammer Park.
The Trenton Thunder defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-4, at Arm & Hammer Park. Leading the charge for Trenton was designated hitter Brock Toothman. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The winning pitcher was Jeremiah Pearson. He's now 4-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Thunder. Ivan Vidot was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Enrique Vega was a prime contributor to the Trenton win. He was 2-4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, the 23-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-2, in favor of the Thunder.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Vega.
Trenton currently is in third place in the Eastern Division at 14-15.
