Molina hits 2 home runs, Leads Slammers to Win
|
With left fielder Johan Molina leading the charge, the Joliet Slammers defeated the Lake Erie Crushers, 6-4, at Sprenger Health Care Systems Stadium. Molina slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Joliet pitcher David Remaly got the win. He's now 4-3. Willie Gomez was tagged with the loss. Manuel Tijerina was credited with the save for Joliet, his 12th of the season.
Joliet took the lead on Molina's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Willie Gomez in the top of the seventh, made the score 6-4, Joliet.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Molina told the Joliet Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
Joliet now owns a record of 52-53.
