Oakland Dispatched, 3-2, by Cleveland
|
Cleveland pitcher Mike Haines did his part in helping his team beat the Oakland Athletics, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. With the win, the Indians improved to 41-48.
In the top of the 6th, shortstop Brent Conner gave Cleveland the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Indians had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Oakland pitcher Robby Rhodes changed that -- and Cleveland went on to win.
"I was able to miss barrels for the most part and the guys behind me made plays," said Haines.
