Power (CHA) Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Charleston Power (CHA) weathered an outstanding game by Allentown right fielder Jamie Myers to topple the Mad Dogs (ATL), 7-6. Myers was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Charleston reliever Danny South picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Pat Haug was tagged with the loss. The Power (CHA) go to 17-6, putting them first in the National League East Division.
Walter Fox was the walk-off hero for Charleston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Power (CHA) first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Fox said, postgame.
