Indians Down White Sox, 7-6
|
The Cleveland Indians overcame a fine performance by Chicago right fielder Michael Williams to defeat the White Sox, 7-6, at Guaranteed Rate Field. Williams went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Raul Moran recorded the save, his 24th. The 'W' lifts Cleveland's record to 83-79.
Cleveland used the bat of Tyler London to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Indians ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chicago manager Max Bartlett. "The effort was great."
