Big Day for Aubuchon as RubberDucks Down Rumble Ponies, 6-2
|
Akron took on Binghamton in front of a lively crowd.
The exploits of designated hitter Mike Aubuchon helped the Akron RubberDucks defeat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-2. Aubuchon was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Arturo Franco, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 2-2.
In the bottom of the first, 26-year old shortstop Peter Harris hit a 2-run single to center. The single, which was hit off of Brian Scott, gave Akron a 3-0 lead.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Akron manager Taek-keun Lee.
