Thrilling Victory Pushes Knights Win Streak to 10
|
Charlotte pitcher Tony Munoz had a large part in his team beating the Gwinnett Stripers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Curt MacKenzie picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Bryan Fonner suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Bennett.
Manuel Cardenas hit a run-scoring triple off Bryan Fonner in the top of the ninth, which put the Knights in front, 3-2. Cardenas had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Charlotte manager Josh Altmann.
Now 19-11, the Knights have won 10 games in a row.
