Late Rally by Woodpeckers Secures 11-9 Win
|
Alfredo Ochoa was a major contributor to the 11-9 Fayetteville win over Winston-Salem. The Woodpeckers first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Fayetteville has a record of 18-13, placing them second in the Southern Division.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Fayetteville trailing 9-8, Ochoa jumped on a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Doug Holloway and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Woodpeckers had a walk-off win.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Ochoa said.
