Starling Helps Cardinals Defeat Mets, 7-2
Palm Beach catcher George Starling contributed significantly to his team's 7-2 win over the St. Lucie Mets. Starling went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cardinals. Picking up the win was Largo Comollo. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. The left--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. The loss drops St. Lucie to 6-22.

Palm Beach took a 5-0 lead on Starling's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Jimmy Kidney in the top of the sixth, propelled Palm Beach to the win.

Starling expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
