Blues Stun Saints, 4-1
|
Hung-k'uei Liao was masterful in helping the Carlton Blues take down the St. Kilda Saints, 4-1. Liao got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Liao allowed 1 run. Gerald Cardell got credit for the save for Carlton. It was his 3rd of the year.
One significant plate appearance for Carlton came with two out in the top of the eighth inning. Blues first baseman Michael Morrall hit a grand slam home run, which helped his team go on to win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Morrall. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Saints fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2022 season.
