Roosters Top North Melbourne, 1-0
|
East Sydney Roosters starter Randolph Clyde turned in a sterling performance against the North Melbourne Kangaroos, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. The win lifted the East Sydney record to 32-24.
East Sydney used the timely hitting of Daren Simmons to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Roosters on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" East Sydney manager Chris Smith said.
