Demons Lose to Bulldogs, 8-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Melbourne Demons and Canterbury Bulldogs get after it.
The Canterbury Bulldogs got a stellar effort from pitcher Chris Dallas, helping Canterbury score a win over the visiting Melbourne Demons, 8-2. In 7 innings, Dallas surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
Had Andre Farnsworth not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Farnsworth hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Bulldogs.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Canterbury manager Andrew Cole.
With the win, Canterbury upped its record to 35-24.
