The Cronulla Sharks eked out a 2-1 win versus the Essendon Knights at Essendon Recreation Reserve. Nobody did more than pitcher Cavill Stupples. He was terrific. Graeme Humphreys, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities. Cronulla has an impressive 45-23 record.

Asa Thatcher, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Thatcher contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Cronulla up, 2-1.

"That's baseball," said Essendon manager Phorgotten Son. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
