Cats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Raiders, 2-0
|
Geelong rode a good effort from starter Boof Puckeridge to beat the Canberra Raiders at Kardinia Park. The final score was 2-0. Geelong reliever Bob Ridley picked up the win to move to 1-0. Steve Meggison suffered the loss. Noud van Dongen earned the save, his 2nd.
With the clubs tied 0-0 in the bottom of the eighth and a runner on 1st, shortstop Erik Lucking, who signed a 4-year contract worth $1,312,000 on 02/05/2022, hit a run-scoring double.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lucking said after the game.
The defeat makes Canberra 0-2.
